2008 Dodge Durango

For 2008, the Dodge Durango's new offerings begin with what's under the hood of the 4x2 and 4x4 models.

Customers may choose from among three engines:

-- a standard 3.7-liter V-6,

-- a new E85-compatible, 4.7-liter V-8 engine with the Flexible-Fuel Vehicle designation, as well as improved fuel economy with more horsepower and torque,

-- and a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 with the Chrysler Group's fuel-saving Multi-displacement System.

The Durango's all-new 4.7-liter V-8 engine uses two spark plugs per cylinder to produce 303 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. The new engine is said to offer improved fuel economy, as well as more power, torque and refinement than previous 4.7-liter V-8.

The 2008 Dodge Durango also brings comfort, convenience and refinement to the full-size SUV market, plus towing capacity of 8,950 pounds, cargo space (with rear seats folded) of 68.4 cubic feet, and 330 horsepower with the available 5.7-liter HEMI, which also provides up to 20 percent fuel economy savings.

Inside, the Durango offers seating for up to eight, and amenities including heated cloth seats, available power rear liftgate, remote start, YES Essentials stain resistant, odor resistant, anti-static seat fabric and dual-zone automatic temperature control.
